"Default Style" Tab You can configure subtitles' default style on this tab.
This tab has plenty of options, so you can flexibly tune subtitles. Font - allows you to select font and it's parameters. In a list you can select charset, needed for non-latinbased (is it a right word?) chars. Spacing - space between characters. Angle z,░ - angle of text rotation. Scale x,% - horizontal scalability. Scale y,% - vertical scalability. Border - allows you to configure text borders. Outline - character outline. Opaque box - nontransparent rectangular - surface where text is drawn. Border width - you can set border width here. Shadow depth - shadow width. Screen Alignment & Margins - sets space between text and screen borders (in pixels), subtitles position. If you want to view film on TV you may need to set larger values. Position subtitles relative to the video frame - positions subtitles relatively to the video frame, not the main player window. It has three states. If this option is not defined for user styles, this value will be inherited by them. Colors & Transparency - sets colors and opacity, allows you to change primary and secondary colours, borders, shadows. The colourful squares are buttons, lines to the right give opportunity to select transparency for that element. Link alpha channels - transparency of all elements will be the same and will change simultaneously.
